Group Coaching

Resilient

From helpless bystander to a hope-filled woman with a plan.

Twelve weeks. A group of women who truly get it. A coach who has lived it. And a God who has been working the whole time.

Next cohort begins January 2027 · Enrollment opens December 1

Sound familiar?

Somewhere Between Giving Up and Holding On

You’ve read the books. You’ve watched the videos. You’ve asked your pastor, your best friend, and Google more times than you’d admit.

And you still end up in the same place.

Saying the thing you swore you wouldn’t say.

Smoothing things over so the house stays quiet.

Smiling at church and telling no one.

Starting the same cycle over. Again.

That isn’t because you’re weak. It’s because no one was meant to learn this alone, from a book or video, in the middle of the storm.

I tried pleading, silent treatments, bribing, ultimatums, and even drinking to numb the pain myself. None of it worked, and I walked most of that road alone. You don’t have to.

Little by little

Change Takes Practice. And People.

But here’s what I’ve seen: God rarely changes us all at once. He grows us, week by week, and He almost always does it in community.

Resilient gives you twelve weeks to grow on purpose. Not more information. A guided path, a group of women walking it with you, and room to practice until the new way becomes your way. Same women, same circle, all twelve weeks. Not a drop-in group.

It’s built on Invitation to Change, a science-based approach for families, and every session is anchored in prayer and God’s Word.

“And I am certain that God, who began a good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished.”

PHILIPPIANS 1:6 (NLT)

What you’ll walk away with

By Week Twelve, You’ll Know How To…

See the need underneath their choices

and respond to the person instead of the problem.

Catch a reaction before it takes over

and pause long enough to remember your values and who God is.

Treat yourself with kindness

the kind you would give a friend in your shoes.

Start conversations that don’t end in a fight

using two simple tools: L.O.V.E. and S.U.R.F.

Invite your loved one toward help

without threats and ultimatums.

Set a limit, and hold it

and know when stepping away is the loving thing to do.

Hear God’s voice for yourself

so you’re not waiting on someone else to tell you what He’s saying.

The journey

Three Phases, Twelve Weeks

WEEKS 1-4

Foundation

Seeing clearly. What their use is doing for them, why recovery looks different for every person, and why a setback isn’t the end of the story.

WEEKS 5-7

Inner Work

Tending your own heart. Noticing what’s happening inside you, holding your pain in a new way, and learning to be gentle with yourself.

WEEKS 8-12

Strategy & Action

Love with a plan. How to talk, how to invite them toward help, and how your everyday choices can shape theirs.

Before → After Stories

  • “I was feeling very panicky, scared for the future, not sure what to do next, like it was all on me. Now I feel released of that need to ‘say the perfect thing,’ and I feel more at peace trusting that God is in control and working even when I can’t see it. This work showed me it’s not about the addiction but rather what’s underneath. Having this understanding is so freeing.”

    R. in Missouri (Wife)

  • "This course was an eye opener to everything I was doing wrong with my son’s addiction. Mel made the course easy to understand with her feedback and input in my personal struggles with my son."

    H. in Colorado (Mother)

  • "When I started this course, I was emotionally broken and overwhelmed with anxiety. I lacked the tools to navigate my emotions. Through this course, I gained those tools, grew in my faith, and found strength through God. Today, I am stronger, more confident, and better equipped to face life’s challenges with Him by my side."

    D. in Hawaii (Wife)

  • “My emotions were all over and that's what was getting in the way. I have learned so much from Mel and the workbook that I have peace in my heart.”

    A. in Nevada (Mother)

  • “When I started this course I was scared, worried, sad, angry and very stressed because the choices my loved one was making. I am now more at peace because I understand that this is not my problem to fix. It continually reminded me that I am in control of “planting” and God is in control of “fixing.””

Melanie Ota, certified Invitation to Change coach and leader of the Resilient group

Meet your coach

I’m Melanie Ota.

Founder of Hope Releasers and a certified Invitation to Change coach.

For seventeen years, I loved my husband in active addiction. He went through five rehabs, and none of them lasted. I was losing myself trying to hold everything together. Then God met me in my exhaustion as I read Scripture, and my peace came back before anything in him changed. Two years later, by God’s grace, he got clean and sober. But the first miracle happened in me.

Years later, Invitation to Change gave me language and tools for what God had already taught me at home. Resilient is both: Scripture and skill, shaped into twelve weeks we walk together.

I can’t promise you your loved one’s recovery. I can promise you don’t have to lose yourself, your faith, or your peace while you wait for God to do only what God can do.

With hope,

Melanie
